Author Biography K.L. GUMM
K.L. Gumm, I am a Kentucky author whose fiction is shaped from a lifetime of hard-earned experience. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1971 and raised across several states before settling in Kentucky.
I grew up around instability, impoverished families and the kinds of struggles that leave lasting marks. After a difficult start in life, years of labor-intensive work, and a long path toward reinvention, I turned seriously to writing the stories in my head, some having been there for years.
My fiction focuses on complicated relationships, emotional danger, crime, obsession (real or fantasy), betrayal, the private wounds people bring into love and ambition and sometimes comedy. I do my best to write with grit, intensity, and a deep interest in what drives people to want more than the lives they were given, and the damage they’re willing to do to reach it.
