Author Biography K.L. GUMM

K.L. Gumm is a Kentucky author whose fiction draws on a lifetime of hard-earned experience. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1971 and raised across several states before settling in Kentucky, he grew up around low income families, instability, and the kinds of struggles that leave lasting marks. After a difficult start in life, years of labor-intensive work, and a long path toward reinvention, he turned seriously to writing the stories he had carried for years. His fiction focuses on complicated relationships, emotional danger, obsession, betrayal, and the private wounds people bring into love and ambition. Gumm writes with grit, intensity, and a deep interest in what drives people to want more than the lives they were given.
